This post is dedicated to one of my new favorite restaurants, Boa Steakhouse, in West Hollywood, & to my loving parents who joined me for dinner.
I treated my parents to dinner at Boa for my dad’s birthday/ A thank you for taking care of my child everyday celebration. They both deserve the world because my kid is a loooot of work and, without them, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love to do every day. Plus, there’s no better thank you than delicious food- am I right or am I right?
We went on a Friday evening during NBA All-Star weekend and I honestly expected to lose my mind due to the INSANE amount of people that were out that weekend. HOWEVER, I was delighted to discover that the restaurant is so spacious that I honestly didn’t feel claustrophobic in the least, and that’s saying a lot because I have serious personal space issues- especially when I’m eating. It’s a real thing.
Forreal, this restaurant is secretly huge. I say “secretly” because there’s a large outdoor patio that can’t be seen from the street and, honestly, you can’t even call it a patio. It’s basically the size of another restaurant. AND it’s absolutely beautiful. Very modern and pretty plants and heat lamps (thank God) and perfectly sized tables. Nothing bugs me more than tiny restaurant tables. So we quickly got super comfortable and got ready to get our DIN DIN on.

They have a verrrrry impressive cocktail list that my dad took full advantage of, plus a selection of fine wines that my mom took full advantage of, and a really good list of beers, that I definitely took full advantage of.

Okay, FINE. You caught me, ok?! I took full advantage of the fancy cocktails too.
And now, the food.
Goat Cheese Baklava
My taste buds are already obsessed with goat cheese, but this delicious take on baklava is a work of art and only further solidified that obsession.
Seafood Platter Balboa
Hit play on that bad boy to experience the Seafood Platter that is absolutely incredible. And the presentation, hello? My fam and I barely spoke for a solid 15 minutes while we devoured every last bite.
Cajun Cowboy Ribeye
Grilled to absolute perfection, you can expect your turf to meet your highest expectations. And If you like a little spice, I would definitely suggest you copy our choice and go for this bad boy. The cajun spices are DEEEELISH.
Truffle French Fries, Crab & Black Truffle Gnocchi
You say truffle, I say yes please. Can I also say that I’m incredibly impressed by a restaurant that can take something as common as french fries and deliver something as delicious as these fries. And don’t even get me started on gnocchi. It was so delicious, I couldn’t even understand how it’s a SIDE. It could easily be a main dish. It’s THAT good.

The portions are generous enough to share, which is exactly what we decided to do. And I’d definitely suggest doing the same if you so choose to indulge in the deliciousness that is Boa Steakhouse because you’re going to want to try a lot of the items on the menu. TRUST.
And now, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. DESSERT! My favorite part of any meal, obviously, but I had an actual life-changing moment and it happened during the dessert portion of our meal.

And alas, the greatest dessert to ever grace my taste buds in my 26 years of life.
LET, ME. TELL. YOU. ALL. SOMETHING. Words cannot describe the emotions I felt when I tried the butterscotch bread pudding, “garnished” with pear sorbet. It’s unlike anything I have ever tasted in my entire life and the craziest part about my dessert revelation is the fact that I DON’T EVEN LIKE BREAD PUDDING. Seriously. I’ve never, ever, had bread pudding and been like ‘YUM, gotta try that again.’ Real talk, the next day, I turned to my dad and say… ‘hey, remember that bread pudding?’ and he goes ‘yeah, haven’t stopped thinking about it.’ And you know what? Neither had I. And you know what else? I still haven’t stopped thinking about it.
…Sometimes I have dreams about that bread pudding. You think I’m kidding? I’m not.
Whether you’re local to these parts or just passing through El Ay, do yourself a favor, and go to Boa. Sit down, relax, let the nice servers treat you like royalty (because they will) and endulge in some delicious food… and some life-changing bread pudding.
& now scroll down to see me and my cute parents with full, happy bellies after dinner.
Gah, they’re the best.
PS. You better believe I was so full that I had to suck in like my life depended on it.
